Jennifer | Marketing Manager
What I do:
I work on Medicare Part D, which is prescription drug coverage for people that are eligible for Medicare. My niche is “Employer Group,” which means that I create materials that help educate and sell our Medicare Part D plans to employers and their retirees. The goal is a win-win, where our plans benefit both employers and their retirees.
How I make a difference:
I educate employers that even in this difficult market, there are easy and cost effective ways to continue providing prescription drug coverage for their retirees.
Why my job is great:
I work in a beautiful, new, green building with a lot of light. My co-workers are hard working, positive, helpful, and fun, and because of the pace, the days usually fly by. Also, I know that if/when I want a job change, there are internal opportunities that’ll be supported because leadership wants to keep people interested and motivated by their jobs.
The challenges of my job:
Each day is different. Emergencies always come up in the business I work on, and most are an opportunity to work out a new, repeatable solution.
How I impact my community:
By being a resource for questions on Medicare Part D. The program is very complicated and it’s gratifying to know that I can help people understand it better.
What makes this a greater place to work:
I feel a direct connection to our customer.
What’s great about me:
I take my responsibilities very seriously and am proud of what I do. I can be counted on to get things done quickly, efficiently and correctly. I’m a good multi-tasker and have a good sense of humor, both of which are valuable skills at UnitedHealth Group. I have a broad range of interests outside of work and try hard to maintain a balance between work and home.
Little known fact about me:
I lived in New York City for nine years and worked in marketing in the cosmetics industry at Estee Lauder and Avon.
Words I live by:
Once a job has begun, do not quit until it’s done. Be it great or be it small, do it well or not at all.
What I’d say to a potential candidate:
UnitedHealth Group is a good place to work. People care about their jobs and the work they do. Even though the company is large, you feel that your work is valued and important.
