What type of background should a Clinical Pharmacist have for your non-retail positions?

Posted 07/21/2010 by Joe F

Since we are one of the largest PBMs in the United States we have many exciting opportunities for Pharmacists in a non-retail setting.  More predictable hours and an excellent career path are two of the many benefits to joining UHG as a Pharmacist!  In addition to a strong clinical background, it will be important to be able to work well as a team in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.  Strong computer skills, communication skills, and attention to detail are some of the other attributes we look for.  A Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy is required, with a Doctorate of Pharmacy degree typically required at the Director level.  Experience leading a team, large project or committee in a clinical setting demonstrates the leadership and organizational skills required in these roles.

What is it really like to work at UnitedHealth Group?

Posted 05/04/2010 by Joe F

As a recruiter, one of the most common questions I get asked is, “What is it really like to work at UnitedHealth Group? . One thing that always comes to my mind when I am asked this question is this is a place with lots of changes.  Being here for just over two years, I have seen a lot of change on a day to day, month to month and on a quarter to quarter basis.  The thing that has stuck out in my mind the entire time I have been here is how positive this change tends to be.  In saying that, I will mention that I personally love change, adapt to change with out much resistance and usually look at the cup as overflowing.  Here, the changes that are introduced are important to the overall success of the company.  For as large of a company as we are, we are constantly striving to be better, more innovative and more consistent with our processes. UnitedHealth Group is greater than ever at providing stronger communication, confidence and energy in our day to day business.  I don’t know who wouldn’t want to work at a company like this!  This is a company with a vision and the ability to adapt as necessary to meet business needs.
