What I currently work on:
I currently audit physician and facility fee schedules and contract loading for the Customized Contracting Team. I use various tools and databases to track and record quality results of the audits performed daily.

What it takes to be successful:
Having a strong set of communication skills is key. Whether is it via phone, database, email etc, communication is a critical part of this role. Every step of the audit process involves some sort of communication. You need to be able to clearly and accurately convey information. You must me self-motivated because work is assigned via various methods and it is important to be self-motivated in order to keep work prioritized and worked within established timeframes. I always strive to get something done better and quicker so our customers are better served. Flexibility is important. The healthcare industry is changing rapidly. United Health Group takes the approach to implement changes quickly and efficiently in order to meet the demands of our members and providers. It is important to be flexible and keep moving forward, not stay status quo. You must also be customer focused. I think this can be said for almost any job out there. We need to keep our eyes focused on our customer in order to deliver a product that is relevant, effective, and of high quality.
Something a potential candidate should know:
Expect change. Rapid changes are necessary in order to meet demands of our evolving healthcare environment. There are also high volumes of work to complete within established timeframes. And all work is done within many different technical platforms.
