Jonathan | Sr Applications Development Consultant
What I do:
I’m a consultant/manager to the computer application team for the claim processing system at StudentResources. We develop software for processing claims in the niche market of insurance sold to students.
How I make a difference:
I make a difference by presenting solutions for StudentResource’s rapid growth, teaching the team about claim processing, and mentoring the team on strategies and techniques to expand their skills.
Why my job is great:
I frequently see my ideas transform into business solutions that provide better health claim processing. I see team members grow and learn under my direction, and I frequently receive positive feedback mentioning the appreciation of my efforts.
The challenges of my job:
A challenge of my job is ensuring the systems keep up with the rapid growth of StudentResources.
What’s great about me:
I always look for ways to encourage team members. I listen to the team, give the team the tools and training they need, recognize the team’s contributions, and to top it off - make it fun! For instance, we recently completed a project where we embedded a “battleship” game into the development process. The team had great fun while we successfully pushed the very large project through to completion.
Little known fact about me:
I enjoy playing the piano, another example where hard-work produces wonderful results.
Words I live by:
My phone’s welcome message says, “Thank you for being your best.” It’s a simple statement encapsulating integrity, quality, and the reward of effort.
