Senior SAS Engineer / Healthcare Analyst - US (Telecommute) - 374059

Position Responsibilities:
- Lead SAS programs design and deliver the technical SAS solution for both small and strategic project change within the SAS environment
- Develop and execute fraud algorithms for Medicare, Medicaid and commercial clients using SAS, ORACLE, DB2 and other programming languages, as needed.
- Provide realistic cost and resource estimates for fraud algorithms programming
- Conduct data extraction that may include analyzing, reviewing, trending and presenting information, based on provided specs, to support or refute hypotheses leading to the initial identification of heath care fraud & abuse
- Interpret and create requirements, functional specifications and technical design documents following a brief and communicate these effectively to the team
- Perform unit, system and regression testing for SAS programs for quality
- Provide expertise, promote best practices and assist in the evaluation of emerging fraud project initiatives
- Contribute to knowledge sharing, ideas and information relating to SAS technologies and be the key technical expert within the team.
- Assist others in understanding data as they summarize and present complex patterns of fraud in the form of easily deciphered datasets to Healthcare Data Analysts.
- Performance tuning of central SAS resources to support reporting and ad-hoc trend analysis
- Guide and advise SAS programmers to identify and improve the efficiency of current SAS programming practices
- Summarize and present complex patterns of fraud and abuse to internal and external subject matter experts and customers

Qualifications
Requirements:
- 5+ years strong experience using SAS (with SAS9 or higher)and SQL
- 4+ years of experience in using SAS web reports studio, Enterprise Guide, SAS/MACROS, SAS/ACCESS, SAS/GRAPH, SAS/SQL, SAS/ODS
- 5+ years of experience in Healthcare claims data analysis
- 5+ years of experience of using relational databases and ETL tools such as Oracle etc.
- 4+ years of experience in SDLC processes, requirements documentation, technical solution design & functional specifications and test cases documentation
- 5+ years of experience in performing various testing processes for SAS programs
- 2+ years of experience in leading team of SAS analysts and programmers
- 5+ years proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Access, Excel and Word
- 4+ years of experience in using UNIX
- Bachelor's degree in Health Administration, Finance, Health Care Informatics OR High School diploma/GED and at least 7 years of equivalent experience
