The Cash Posting Specialist II is responsible for balancing and reconciling all payments for all accounts within the Single Business Office of John Muir Health. Reconciliation of transactions from multiple systems, back to the bank statement, in a timely and accurate manner to ensure transactions are posted to the appropriate general ledger; along with various other task as related to ensuring accurate posting of cash.

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • The Cash Posting Specialist II takes ownership of patient/customer needs, inquiries, and/or problems
  • Follows through on patient/customer needs, inquiries, requests, or complaints to be sure that their needs are met in a timely and positive manner, problems are resolved, follow up is made, and issues have been appropriately addressed

Required Qualifications: 

  • 4+ years of experience in healthcare environment

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • 1+ years of experience in accounting/accountant
  • 1+ years of experience in accounting/cash management
  • Experience working directly with General Ledger, receiving notification and processing Credit Card Chargeback items, Non-sufficient Funds (NSF) and stop payments in a timely manner
  • Experience with working with Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and outside regulatory agencies’ mandated rules and procedures
  • Experience with verifying electronic fund transfers
  • Experience with balancing and reconciling cash transactions and posting
  • Experience with researching and resolving unapplied cash and misapplied payments
  • Experience with working with EPIC
  • Experience with using the “HEART” model
  • Proven knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Power Point, Word, and Outlook)
  • Demonstrated ten-key by touch skills

California Residents Only: The hourly range for this role is $19.47 to $38.08 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
