This position will assist the Billing Manager in the day-to-day leadership, operation, and planning of the department to ensure objectives are fulfilled according to LHI expectations and any contractual requirements.  Responsible for supervising the Billing and Reporting Team to ensure timely and accurate preparation and delivery of invoices and reports occurs. Provide guidance and help resolve any billing issues in order to maintain good working relationships between LHI and customers.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supervise Billing and Reporting staff to include responsibilities of hiring team members, training staff, and developing and coaching staff around their individual and team productivity.  Oversee employee adherence to department and organizational policies. Promote a positive and engaged work environment
  • Provide guidance and assist in troubleshooting and resolving billing issues while promoting a positive user experience/customer experience
  • Develop and implement billing procedures, policies, and controls. Create and maintain guiding documents, policies, and procedures for billing and reporting, contract compliance, and best practices
  • Ensure customer billing processes occur in a timely and accurate manner
  • Audit/test the billing system calculations during normal operations and system upgrades to ensure the integrity of the process
  • Monitor funding and outstanding A/R balances
  • Prepare reports and analyses as required in support of the monthly financial closing process, contractual obligations, and deliverables as needed to the Billing Manager
  • Assist and lead in the planning, development, and implementation of quality assurance for all processes
  • Assist and lead the implementation of all new contracts within the Billing Department.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Accounting or another related field
  • 3 + years of progressive experience working within a financial role
  • 1 + years of supervisory or leadership experience to include strong leadership skills with ability to develop and motivate direct reports
  • Knowledge of accounting and billing procedures and practices
  • Ability to plan, organize, direct and control the activities, services and operations of the billing procedures and processes
  • Microsoft Office proficient - Word, Excel, and Outlook including the ability to open, create, edit, save, and send documents, spreadsheets, and emails, other forms of documents. 
  • Must have flexibility to work outside normal business hours per business needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of supervisory or leadership experience to include strong leadership skills with ability to develop and motivate direct reports
  • Experience in a service or healthcare industry
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-9, CPT coding
  • Experience with contracts and various pricing formats
  • National Career Readiness Certificate
