Optum Analytics is seeking a talented and motivated individual for a leadership role within the Product organization. The program manager will bring deep expertise in program management with an ability to successfully navigate a matrixed team to drive end-to-end development of technology solutions to support coordination of care and patient engagement. Sensitivity to the analytic and business intelligence needs providers must address in order to successfully implement and execute cross-continuum care coordination programs for managing populations of patients across time and care settings is critical. S / he will be expected to collaborate and coordinate across a cross functional team to drive the product forward. S / he will work closely with the product strategy executives as well as the product management, engineering, implementation and support teams.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Formulate, organize and monitor inter-connected projects
  • Lead or contribute to the development of program or project scope statements with applicable stakeholders (e.g., program / project charter, Statement of Work, Business Vision Document)
  • Identify project duration, effort, sequence, and dependencies of tasks required to meet applicable project objectives
  • Drive / participate in the capital request process, as appropriate (e.g., presentations, cost-benefit analysis, business case)
  • Monitor and document project milestones and outcomes throughout the project lifecycle to ensure adherence to established quality standards
  • Develop, communicate and implement program and project risk, issue management plans and strategies
  • Develop and implement contingency and recovery plans when deliverables are missed (e.g., identify critical path, document, plan for getting back on plan schedule, Business Continuity Plan, failover planning)
  • Collaborate closely with the product management and product engineering teams to ensure the seamless and ongoing translation and prioritization of market needs into functional product or services requirements that will drive development of the solution set
  • Work with product marketing team to create client-facing, product specific sales collateral and case studies to identify key lessons
  • Work closely with client services, sales and marketing to ensure that internal teams and clients are properly educated on both new and existing products

Required Qualifications:

  • BA / BS degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field and / or equivalent education and experience
  • 3+ years of project management experience
  • 3+ years of experience in tracking, planning projects  and making data-driven analytical decisions
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely to leadership
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Project, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and balance multiple priorities and projects
  • Proven ability to quickly understand the Health Systems ecosystem
  • Highly collaborative and able to build collaboration across multiple stakeholders in complex environments
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized and able to manage several concurrent work-streams
  • Must be a high-energy self-starter who thrives in entrepreneurial and collaborative environments
  • Limited travel, but a willingness and ability to travel as needed
  • Ability to fail-fast, recover and ultimately succeed
  • Live within commutable distance to the Boylston street location

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced Degree
  • Healthcare experience
  • PMP certification
