The Capability Manager position will be responsible for the product ownership of the system that will house the revenue cycle management (RCM) capabilities within OptumRx’s services businesses, which include:   1) Understanding business processes that feed into the RCM function; 2) Support application systems to handle customer and member management, claims OOP CMS Billing, payments and technical processes; 2) Performing system analysis activities to gauge effectiveness of system to meet business needs; 3) Evaluating the system’s ability to support downstream business processes measured via objective metrics; and 4) Ownership of product backlog to create, verify and closing of work items such as features and bug fixes. Specific responsibilities will include collaboration with multiple business partners and stakeholders, helping to build and prioritize the backlog of initiatives to support analysis, interpretation, and formation of actionable insights around business results.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the team of business analysts to translate opportunities into work items 
  • Execute the vision for the growth and adoption of the RCM platform as a product owner, prioritizing work for the engineering team
  • Monitor the health of the system to meet the needs of the business, recommending new data connections or functionality as needed to support continued growth
  • Engage with the engineering team to ensure specifications are communicated, understood, and developed on time
  • Contribute to the articulation and definition of the work deliverables
  • Ability to stick to timelines and measure progress during development
  • Facilitate testing within the framework of development activities
  • Plan and manage work items related to payment systems and other technology in the broader Financial Operations ecosystem
  • Manage expectations with stakeholders for delivery of new capabilities, features, and functionalities
  • Coordinate activities to complete work items related to payment systems and other technology in the broader Financial Operations ecosystem

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in a Product Owner role within the Agile framework 
  • 5+ years of Revenue Cycle Management experience
  • 3+ years of experience with product management / large-scale system migration
  • 2+ years of experience with cloud ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems 
  • Experience presenting status updates to both business and technical leadership 
  • Experience coordinating requirements across customer or stakeholder groups
  • Hands-on experience managing all stages of the product life cycle
  • Subject matter expert for core billing, payment, and ledgering business processes
  • Ability to work central standard hours schedule

Preferred Qualification:

  • Related experience within healthcare

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
