The Senior Credit Analyst is experienced in credit analysis and will be responsible for assisting in the review and underwriting of loan requests to help the bank build, maintain, and accurately risk grade its solid credit portfolio. This will involve working closely with other analysts by assisting with training, underwriters, portfolio managers, and credit administration.

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Analyze new small business and commercial loan requests and perform periodic reviews on existing commercial loans  
  • Conduct analysis of financial statements and assess overall credit risk of new and existing loans 
  • Complete quarterly and annual covenant compliance testing for existing loans in the portfolio  
  • Take lead role in presenting analysis, findings, and recommendations to Portfolio Managers, Underwriters, and other members of the Credit team including Senior Leadership
  • Analyze and document loan modification requests 
  • Be knowledgeable of policies, guidelines, procedures, regulations and systems applicable to the credit team functions  
  • Assess and recommend risk ratings for analyzed loans 
  • Assist with portfolio management and monitoring 
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with internal and external clients 
  • Assist with training and mentoring of other analysts 
  • Assist with special projects and complete other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience analyzing business and personal financial statements for loan applications and formal credit training 
  • 3+ years of experience underwriting commercial and small business loans  
  • Experience working with third party vendors and geographically remote borrowers 
  • Experience making or recommending significant financial decisions and to identify, assess and manage risk affecting loans 
  • Knowledge of loan documentation, lending laws, loan transaction procedures, portfolio monitoring, and loan servicing needed 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Formal commercial credit training program 
  • Experience working in credit or lending role with a commercial bank 
  • Experience working out problem loans

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
