The Senior Information Security Engineer supports the Segment Information Security Officers assisting them in their mission to secure the various lines of business and is responsible for supporting the business / segment information risk management programs and Enterprise Information Security (EIS) processes and programs. This role works across various lines of business within UHC and helps support various projects, drive remediation, and analyze and present security metrics / data. 

 

The Senior Information Security Engineer provides support on security processes, reports to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and works as a delegate of EIS.

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Primary support role, for the SISOs, BISO, and Office of Information Security
  • Assist in enterprise and EIS risk management processes and execution
  • Supports SISO / BISO in contract reviews and RFPs
  • Maintains current knowledge on information security topics and their applicability to UHG
  • Manages and reports on remediation efforts
  • Assists in Security Office project management and tracking of key security initiatives
  • Analyzes and presents data for leadership reporting

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in an IT related discipline or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of information security experience working in large and highly-regulated organizations
  • 4+ years of experience with Excel/PowerPoint
  • 2+ years of experience with interpretation and application of policy and standards
  • 2+ years of project experience
  • 2+ years of analyzing, presenting data/reports to leaders    
     

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Technical security certification; CISSP/CISM
  • Experience working with external auditors, regulatory bodies, and customers
  • Subject matter expert knowledge of the technology aspects of security
  • Proven solid project management skills, detail oriented, and displays/instills operational excellence

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Washington, Washington, D.C. Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $88,000 to $173,200 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
