This position is full time, Monday – Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM PST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime. Our office is located at 11600 Indian Hill, Mission Hills, CA.
We offer 3 – 4 weeks of paid on-the-job training. The hours during training will be 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM PST from Monday – Friday.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional service to all customers
- Greets patients as they arrive and manages wait time
- Complete check – in and check – out tasks to include insurance verification and copy required documents
- Collects co – payments, co – insurance, and deductibles and issues receipts
- Manages cashier box and daily deposits according to company policies
- Processes walk – in patients and visitors
- Answers phones and schedules appointments as necessary, verifying correct visit type and primary care provider
- Answer telephone calls, re – direct calls as appropriate, assist callers with questions or concerns, and take messages as needed
- Manages medical records (maintains, files / scans, prepares for schedule)
- Ensures all correspondence is scanned and / or filed, processes requests for medical records release and maintains appropriate logs, etc.
- Responsible for waiting room management cleanliness, communicate pertinent information to patients and ensure all patients have been assisted
- Work with back office staff to ensure smooth patient flow
- Resolve service issues and complaints, and defer to appropriate management or clinical personnel when necessary
- Assist co – workers and team members with duties when requested, to include but not limited to, floating to other areas
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public
- Performs all other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma / GED
- Must be 18 years of age OR older
- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish
- Customer service – related experience
- Experience with Windows based programs including Microsoft Office
- Ability to work any of our shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM PST from Monday – Friday. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience in a medical office OR medical environment
- Previous experience with medical insurance
- Prior experience with EMR computer applications
- Working knowledge of medical terminology
- Working knowledge of general office procedures
The hourly range for this role is $16.00 to $28.85 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
