The Manager II functions as an integral member of the  team and under minimal supervision, provides direction, inspiration and counseling to teammates. Monitors workflow functions, outcomes, customer satisfaction, and quality measures of the facility with the result of meeting or exceeding the established financial and other objectives set in cooperation with the Regional Operations Director.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Consistently exhibits behavior and communication skills that demonstrate our company’s commitment to superior customer service, including quality, care and concern with every internal and external customer
  • Provides overall direction and guidance to administrative team of staff, supervisors and/or managers
  • Ensure continuous improvement and high service standards for the Optum CCAO experience
  • Communicates organizational objectives and vision to the team
  • Manage business and clinical functions, including Staff Safety Alerts, Payroll and time-off requests
  • Assists supervisors and managers with the development and implementation of departmental goals, policies, procedures, workflows, efficiencies, budgets and reporting tools
  • Maintain supplies, equipment, signage, and facility cleanliness. Maintains a professional facility appearance that meets patients’ expectations
  • Promotes and fosters a team approach to delivering quality, cost-effective care to where patient satisfaction is the primary goal
  • Prepares annual capital equipment and operating budgets for the Health Center. Monitors departmental activities and justifies variances when necessary. Implements effective tools to improve operational efficiencies and cost control
  • Ensures the coordination of provider schedules and the scheduling of patients. Monitors appointment availability and implements template changes as needed
  • Monitor and optimize access to care through appointments, calls, and MyChart
  • Works in conjunction with Associate Medical Director and regional team to enhance provider satisfaction. Assists in resolving provider-related issues when necessary
  • Monitors the impact of growth on the facility’s existing space plan based on projected enrollment, visits and utilization. Proposes, plans and directs facility expansion and enhancement projects when required
  • Maintains and provides direction and education for Practice Health & Safety standards across all locations. Assists with annual PH&S surveys and plans remediation where necessary
  • Enhances Health Center visibility through community involvement and marketing strategies
  • Participates actively on organizational and ad hoc committees as needed
  • Reports progress, operational issues, organizational opportunities and threats to the regional team on a monthly basis and as needed
  • Monitors patient satisfaction through various programs such as the formal complaint process, new patient surveys and satisfaction surveys. Responds as appropriate
  • Monitors employee engagement survey results, encourages participation, and provides action planning where needed
  • Ensures customer service standards are met through audits making adjustments and improvements where necessary
  • Ensure staff compliance with all company policies, procedures and competencies are met
  • Uses, protects, and discloses our patients’ protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards
  • Performs additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or demonstrated equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of leadership experience (supervisor and above) with direct reports
  • 1+ years of healthcare industry experience within specialty care and/or medical group operations environment
  • Intermediate level of experience with Microsoft Suite

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or demonstrated equivalent experience
  • 5+ years in healthcare management
  • Epic EMR, dashboard and reporting tools

 

The salary range for this role is $89,800 to $176,700 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
