Senior Quality Consultant – Java Selenium, Java or J2EE, SQL

Primary Responsibilities:

• Product Functionality: 
  • Understand the application functionality end to end to be able to take part in business discussions
• Product Quality Champion:
  • Champion for product quality within the team
  • Assess product readiness and commit to product delivery schedules
• Test Strategy Implementation:
  • Work with Product and Development teams to design and implement Test Strategy to deliver quality consumer software products
  • Implement Test Automation leveraging test automation frameworks while driving processes to reduce manual test coverage
  • Manage all test execution and defects in any given test management tool
  • Lead defect triage to effectively report all defects to the Scrum team
• Work with a distributed agile team
• Quality Assurance:
  • Ensure products meet high standards of quality, performance, security, and reliability
  • Help write test plans, test cases, and provide suggestions for improving QA processes
  • Perform manual exploratory testing to identify difficult-to-find bugs and UX issues
• Test Automation Framework:
  • Design and develop a robust test automation framework using Playwright JS, GitHub Actions, and JMeter for load testing
  • Create and maintain automated test scripts for functional, regression, and performance testing
• Technical Review:
  • Review and critique technical requirements, software design specifications, and software implementation
  • Assist the development team in analyzing defects and tracking them to successful resolution
• Status Reporting:
  • Provide comprehensive status reports to QA management
• Framework Optimization:
  • Continuously enhance and optimize the test automation framework to improve test coverage, efficiency, and reliability
  • Actively research new tools/methods beneficial for implementing Automated Tests
• Mentorship:
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior members of the QA team
  • Leverage communication, documentation, preparation, and training to educate other disciplines on QA Automation processes
• Industry Trends:
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in test automation tools and techniques
• Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• 9+ years of experience in Software Engineering & Quality Engineering (QE) principles and practices, including Designing, Coding, Test design, test automation, and continuous testing
• 7+ years of hands-on experience on Java Selenium, Java/J2EE, SQL, Protractor JS, JMeter etc
• Experience with JavaScript test automation frameworks (e.g., ReactJS, NodeJs, Cypress, Cucumber, WebdriverIO, Puppeteer, Selenium, Playwright, Mocha, Protractor)
• Sound knowledge of Test Frameworks and their design patterns, including designing, developing, and maintaining test frameworks that enable efficient and effective quality assurance processes
• Good knowledge on Agile Testing fundamentals with solid concepts on Shift left testing using ATDD/BDD
• Solid understanding of CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery) concepts, processes, and tools to enable efficient software release cycles and rapid delivery
• Familiarity with various test frameworks and tools
• Proficiency in Automation, including experience with automation frameworks, scripting languages. The ability to design and implement robust automation solutions is crucial
• Proficient with tools like Rally, Jira for defect and test management
• Proven exposure to GenAI and AI/ML frameworks will be added advantage
• Proven good Exposure on Database Testing, SQL or PL/SQL Concepts to perform Database Validations or to retrieve the data from database.
• Proven expertise in DevOps practices, such as continuous integration, continuous delivery, and infrastructure automation. Knowledge of containerization technologies, version control systems, and build tools is important
• Proven leadership and team management skills, including the ability to set clear objectives, provide guidance, delegate tasks, and ensure project completion. Mentorship and knowledge sharing are key aspects of this role
• Proven excellent collaboration and communication skills, as you will be working closely with cross-functional teams, clients, and stakeholders to understand their needs, identify improvement areas, and implement engineering strategies
