At Optum, our Payer Admin Product team is focused on delivering innovative solutions that ensure accurate payment by driving transparency to Payer specific requirements across the Revenue Cycle.
The Sr. Product Manager will collaborate to define and drive product strategy. In this role, you must be able to effectively communicate complex concepts with vendors, customers, co-workers and management, both verbally and in writing. You must balance a self-motivated, independent work ethic with the desire to educate and assist others. Organization, prioritization, attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure are all crucial. Must have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional and cross-enterprise teams to deeply understand the why claims denials occur, teams and technology functions related to a specific denial topic and industry/market intelligence related to a specific denial topic
- Drive comprehensive data analysis to quantify impact across all stakeholders – Payer, Provider and Member
- Research Payer Policy to understand sources of variation across Payers
- Define potential solutions for denial avoidance, including market opportunity, target customer profiles, value propositions, client and consumer experience, and financial modeling to justify potential resource investments
- Optimize internal programs and assets, and partner with key internal stakeholders for alignment and support to bring the roadmap to market
- Serve as the thought leader and subject matter expert to all internal and external stakeholders
- Partner with reporting and analytics to establish performance metrics and define requirements
- Continuously mindful of market, competitive, and operational data to identify opportunities for product enhancements and overall growth

Required Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience product research/management or business analysis leadership
- 5+ years of experience working with large data sets, analyzing, presenting and interpreting to drive meaningful and actionable insights
- 5+ years of deep healthcare data knowledge and understanding
- 5+ years of experience interfacing with business leaders and strategic partners to develop strategic business plans and roadmaps
- 2+ years of experience leading and influencing cross-matrixed team members and stakeholders, and delivering quantifiable results with large-scale, cross-functional teams
- Best in class collaboration skills, ability to be a team player and flex as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in denial root cause analysis and quantification
- Experience with reporting platforms such as Qlik, PowerBI or other reporting platforms
- Deep knowledge of the Revenue Cycle workflow
- Knowledge of database technologies, warehousing, ETL and programming languages

The salary range for this role is $106,800 to $194,200 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
