Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Serves as a company Autism/ABA subject matter expert and will develop and oversee the implementation of the Autism/ABA strategy
  • Follows and analyzes trends in Autism care and ABA therapy and ensures our strategy is aligned with the latest evidenced-based practices.
  • Develop strategies to appropriately align best care with treatment trends and costs
  • Works with network to implement a value-based care approach to ABA therapy and autism care
  • Works with Operations teams to ensure that the strategy and policies around ASD are being implemented as envisioned and designed
  • Ensures latest research and recommendations are incorporated into Optum Policy/programs and procedures as required
  • Works with Optum Partners including UHC, other health plans, employers and provider groups to ensure Autism strategy and ABA care are meeting the needs of members and the organization and ensuring enterprise-wide buy-in
  • Presents and represents Optum Autism strategy in internal and external forums
  • Develop relationships with ASD professional societies and provider groups.
  • Ensures that all parts of the strategy and workplans are in compliance with laws and regulation
  • Ensures successful implementation of new Autism/ABA customers and products
  • Guarantees appropriate strategies and interventions to/for members, utilizing best practices

Required Qualifications: 

  • Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Marriage or Family Counseling, or Doctoral Psychology degree
  • Licensed (LCSW, LMHC, LCPC, LPC, Psychologist) mental health professional
  • 5+ years experience of working within a managed care organization
  • 5+ years providing Intensive Behavioral Therapy using evidenced-based practices
  • 3+ years treating Autism Spectrum Disorders with Applied Behavioral Analysis
  • 2+ years of clinical strategy and program development experience focused on caring for individuals with ASD 
  • Recognized by professional societies as an industry leader in ABA evidenced-based therapy (i.e. CASP)
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing stakeholders
  • Advanced Microsoft Word and Excel skills
  • Willing or ability to travel up to 20%

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified BCBA 
  • Experience with Value Based Care

The salary range for this role is $124,500 to $239,400 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
