Primary Responsibilities:
- Provides consultation, education, and analysis of the clinical content to clinical development staff and physicians to assure the correct context, granularity and quality of coding going into content products will meet market needs, be accurate and support the workflows of clients
- Develops and updates ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and DRG codes in InterQual content in the context of contractually driven release cycles including data entry into proprietary clinical editing environment
- Performs Quality Assurance of coding and maintains clinical documentation
- Interfaces with clinical development staff to both educate and clarify intent of criteria to assure accurate and complete coding
- Maintain current medical coding knowledge to serve as a coding resource for internal customers
- Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:
- College Graduate in any course
- Certified Professional Coder or have AAPC
