The Senior Report Developer will serve as a member of the OptumRx Workers Compensation Informatics team, working with a team of other developers. This person will be responsible for designing and creating program outcome, trend, and forecasting reports and dashboards, and working on major projects serving all lines of business. The person must be a self-starter and solid leader with outstanding analytical and development skills.
This individual will design and develop reports and dashboards in PowerBI and SSRS. Scope of responsibilities includes understanding various enterprise data platforms, working with multiple reporting products, supporting audit requirements, and developing reporting that delivers value to our internal and external customers. The Senior Report Developer should be proficient in SQL, PowerBI, SSRS, Excel, and other data visualization tools. Experience with workers compensation or other related healthcare data is an advantage.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop reports and dashboards in SSRS and Power BI, supporting portal and subscription reporting
- Take ownership of assigned reporting products and serve as SME for those products
- Working with the team and the business, follow the report development lifecycle for requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, and feedback
- Analyze, review, forecast, and trend complex data pertaining to advanced performance metrics sourced from various enterprise systems
- Support successful rollout of PowerBI to clients and internal users, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum client satisfaction
- Conduct gap analysis between current and future state and assist in the build and operationalization of future processes
- Proactively communicate data and reporting issues to management. Work with management to implement report/data monitoring processes and procedures, to quickly recognize issues and mitigate their impact to clients
- Enhance technical and reporting solutions to reduce costs and improve quality and efficiency through streamlining development processes and/or reducing manual touches and workarounds
- Work efficiently with other developers to drive cost savings, efficiency, quality and value in shared reporting functions
- Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
- Ensure your development leverages company best practices for coding, storage, naming conventions, and technology utilization

Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience writing SQL code
- 2+ years of experience working as a report developer
- 2+ years of experience designing reports with large data sets
- 2+ years of healthcare experience
- Advanced or Expert level of proficiency with SQL, SSRS, PowerBI, and Microsoft Excel
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience writing Python code
- Experience with analysis and design including workflow, evaluation of business process, wireframes, etc
- Experience with data analysis in SQL Server
- Experience working with medical data
- Knowledge and experience in healthcare systems, operations, regulatory/compliance mandates, and industry standards
- Experience utilizing data dictionary to build queries and/or reporting from the ground up
- Excellent communication, time management, problem solving, organizational, and presentation skills
- Solid interpersonal skills, including demonstrated ability to effectively interact, collaborate with, and influence key stakeholders

The salary range for this role is $71,600 to $140,600 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
