We’re seeking a ServiceNow Application Developer to join our team in support of a mission critical application serving OptumRx. In this role, you’ll work in a fast-paced Agile environment enhancing and supporting a ServiceNow instance to meet the unique business needs of our users. Along the way you will learn new skills, develop an understanding of our PBM business and deliver value to our customers.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate in an agile environment to understand business needs, recommend solutions, participate in story refinement, and deliver on team commitments
  • Design and develop new ServiceNow functionality to enhance custom applications
  • Consistently apply coding patterns, best practices, and data driven approaches to enhance functionality
  • Lead discussions to design and utilize relational database structures
  • Interface with the ServiceNow vendor for all operational requests / issues / needs
  • Continuously work toward simplification, automation, and innovation of enterprise
  • ServiceNow instance
  • Participate in the daily scrum meetings and other related Agile ceremonies
  • Proactively identify and communicate issues as they arise
  • Provide operational support on a rotational basis
  • Troubleshooting any reported problems
  • API and webhook integrations to enable seamless communication between internal systems and third-party platforms
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define integration requirements and troubleshoot issues
  • Familiarity on Microsoft and Cisco UCaaS is a plus, otherwise will be offered training in 1-3  months
  • Automation for Monitoring, Alerting and Detection (Infrastructure support)
    • Build and maintain automated monitoring tools to detect anomalies, failures, and performance degradations across systems
    • Implement alerting mechanisms that reduce response time and improve incident visibility
  • Toil Reduction (Operational Excellence)
    • Identify repetitive manual tasks and develop automation scripts or workflows to eliminate operational toil
    • Champion the adoption of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD practices to streamline deployment and maintenance
    • Continuously evaluate and improve system reliability and efficiency through automation
  • Dashboards & KPI Management (Operational Excellence)
    • Develop and maintain real-time dashboards that visualize key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics
    • Work with stakeholders to define meaningful metrics that align with business and engineering goals
  • Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:

  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer, ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CSM a plus)
  • 5+ years of ServiceNow development experience in an enterprise environment
  • 3+ years of experience with ServiceNow’s Customer Service Management (CSM) solution, Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) a plus including scripting, data management, service automation, service catalog, creating workflows, using ServiceNow APIs, designing/building out integrations, self-service and process automation, and application tool maintenance
  • 3+ years of experience with agile scrum methodology
  • 3+ years of experience with Java Script , Macro and Python
  • Extensive experience on API and Webhook Integrations (UC Deployment & Migrations)
  • Experience or knowledge in Automation for Monitoring, Alerting and Detection (Infrastructure support)
  • Experience or knowledge in Toil Reduction (Operational Excellence)
  • Experience or knowledge in Dashboards & KPI Management (Operational Excellence)
  • Proven ability to develop and build effective partnerships and relationships, collaborating and influencing broadly and at multiple levels in the organization
  • Proven ability to present technical information in a way that non-technical management and staff will understand
  • Proven excellent communication skills – verbal and written
  • Proven solid analytical, problem solving and systems thinking abilities
  • Demonstrated passion for and commitment to a consumer and client driven culture
  • Demonstrated self-sufficient; able to work with minimal direction
