The Optum Health Informatics Division seeks a Health Informaticist to support the delivery of informatics services to one of our Market Performance Partners (MPPs). The scope of health informatics services includes education and training, new hire onboarding, clinical workflow support, workflow development/enhancement, and ensure our end users overall mastery of the electronic health record and associated technologies.

 

This position will have the unique opportunity to provide direct client end user support. They will support the implementation of various new technology/innovative projects, ensure workflows are developed to drive efficiency and adoption of new technology, proactively looking for efficiencies and workflow enhancements, and use data to drive adoption of technology workflows leading to maximum value realization for our care teams.

 

We are seeking an experienced Health Informaticist with electronic health record and clinical workflow experience who wants to be part of an innovative and forward-thinking team. This position is based in Waukesha, WI; you will have the flexibility to work remotely* with onsite support of our teams when needed as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct onsite client-facing support as a Health Informaticist when necessary 
  • Support new projects/technology implementations by completing current state reviews, participating in future state design, or providing implementation/adoption support
  • Proactively use data to assess where there are opportunities to drive adoption of technology
  • Support Health Informatics Training Team with the development and roll out of educational content to all end users
  • Leverage change management strategies and tactics to support clinical end users and ensure overall adoption of new workflows
  • Assess opportunities for technology improvements with data in collaboration with clinician feedback to understand workflows, define problems, and recommend and implement solutions
  • Support the development and adoption of standards for evidence-based care practice and collaborate with the training team to create education or training materials as appropriate
  • Serve as the client Health Informaticist for optimization solution implementations
  • Reviews testing scripts and validates build to ensure clinical relevancy
  • Participates in end-user validation activities
  • Build consensus among client stakeholders who play a critical role in the client’s ability to successfully implement the identified solutions
  • Provide action plans for areas where performance is not tracking to target
  • Collaborate with account delivery leaders to ensure health informatics services are delivered effectively to clients

 

Qualified candidates will be expected to effectively demonstrate:

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of clinical experience working as an RN, RT and/or MA
  • 1+ years of experience working with Epic in an enterprise environment
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite; Word, PowerPoint, Excel
  • Reside within a commutable distance to Waukesha, WI
  • Driver’s License and access to reliable transportation

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as a Health Informaticist, utilizing data to drive outcomes, improving experience, and efficiencies
  • Experience with leading small to large scale enhancement projects
  • In-depth knowledge of Epic and the full implementation lifecycle of Epic’s suite of electronic medical record applications from conception through development into production 
  • Proven history of fostering a culture of diversity and inclusion and driving innovation

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you’ll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $71,200 to $127,200 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
