As a member of the Optum Health Financial Data Management (OH FDM) team, the Associate Business Systems Analyst will work alongside the Medical Expense team to support applications, data flows, controls, and operational processes in support of the Optum Health Controllership and financial reporting. This team is on the front line supporting the enterprise growth strategy to accelerate the transition of health care to a value-based care model. The OH FDM team works to create systems that work together in a cohesive manner, enforcing standards and methods consistently across the enterprise. This role will support expansion of new business on strategic claims and financial systems as well as execution of controls, operations, and maintenance of existing systems and processes.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Configure financial systems for processing of claim and reserve transactions through to the general ledger
- Conduct user acceptance testing of enhancements, upgrades and onboarding of new markets, health plans, and products onto claims platforms
- Execute internal controls over system and data feeds from source systems through financial systems to the general ledger
- Troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis of issues in data feeds; remediate underlying issues, including system and/or process enhancements
- Execute operational accounting processes related to claims payments
- Write and maintain detailed documentation of control and operational procedures, test plans and results, and other training/reference materials
- Support cross-functional initiatives and perform additional responsibilities as needed to meet evolving business needs

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 2+ years of experience with financial systems, data, controls, and accounting processes
- 1+ years of experience in a client-facing role

Intermediate level of proficiency in standard business applications, Microsoft Office Suite, and SharePoint
Preferred Qualifications:
- Healthcare experience
- Experience executing and delivering within the confines and timelines provided
- Financial system implementation experience
- Basic knowledge of SQL, Snowflake and/or Databricks

- Self-motivated and capable of working independently
- Effective team player with strong collaboration skills
- Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you’ll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $58,800 to $105,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
