The Senior Data Architect serves as the strategic and technical lead for designing, optimizing, and governing enterprise data models, pipelines, and integrations. This role ensures that data is structured, accessible, secure, and aligned with organizational goals  –  enabling advanced analytics, data quality, and system interoperability across platforms such as Snowflake, Salesforce, MD Staff, Kafka, and Power BI.

The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise with business acumen to guide the evolution of enterprise data architecture and mentor cross-functional teams in modern data design principles and best practices.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Data Architecture & Modeling
    • Design, implement, and maintain scalable enterprise data models (conceptual, logical, physical) to support analytic, operational, and transactional workloads.
    • Develop and enforce data modeling standards across Snowflake and other environments
    • Define data integration patterns and schemas that support real-time and batch data movement using tools like Kafka and APIs
    • Oversee data lineage, metadata management, and data cataloging to ensure traceability and governance
  • Data Strategy & Governance
    • Partner with data governance and product management teams to define data standards, naming conventions, and survivorship rules
    • Translate complex business requirements into data architecture solutions aligned with enterprise strategy
    • Support regulatory compliance, security, and privacy frameworks (HIPAA, SOC2, etc.) through architectural design
    • Contribute to the enterprise data governance framework and ensure architecture compliance with governance policies
  • Technical Leadership
    • Serve as the subject matter expert for data architecture, mentoring data engineers, analysts, and product teams
    • Collaborate with enterprise architects, system owners, and analytics teams to ensure architectural alignment
    • Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies (e.g., AI-driven data quality tools, MDM solutions, or streaming platforms)
    • Establish architecture documentation, playbooks, and data modeling guidelines
  • Performance & Optimization
    • Optimize data pipelines and queries for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency
    • Define SLAs for data delivery, integrity, and availability
    • Implement monitoring and validation mechanisms to ensure high data quality and reliability

**This role will be part time 20-25 hours/week.

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or enterprise data modeling roles
  • Experience with Kafka, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data integration frameworks
  • Deep understanding of data governance, metadata management, and data quality frameworks
  • Solid understanding of cloud data architecture (AWS, Azure, GCP) and data lake/lakehouse principles
  • Expertise in Snowflake, SQL, and data modeling tools (e.g., ER/Studio, dbt, Lucidchart)
  • Proven track record designing and implementing enterprise-scale data solutions across multiple domains
  • Proven excellent communication skills with ability to convey complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Salesforce, MD Staff, or other healthcare provider data systems
  • Experience in healthcare, payer, or provider data ecosystems
  • Familiarity with Power BI, Python, or Spark for analytics and data transformation
  • Knowledge of master data management (MDM) and API-based data exchange

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you’ll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $132,200 to $226,600 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
