Associate Billing Representative
(Remote considered)

This position is full time Monday – Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00am – 4:30pm EST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.
We offer weeks of on-the-job training. The hours of the training will be aligned with your schedule.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Enters information necessary for insurance claims such as patient information, insurance identification, diagnosis and treatment codes, modifiers, and provider information.
- Ensures claim information is complete and accurate.
- Submits insurance claims to clearinghouse or individual insurance companies electronically or via paper.
- Follows up with insurance companies for unpaid or rejected claims.
- Communicates with payors and other necessary contacts to resolve issue and re-submit claims as needed.
- Prepares appeal letters to insurance carrier when not in agreement with claim denial.
- Collects necessary information to accompany appeal.
- Prepares and submits secondary claims upon processing by primary insurer.
- Posts insurance and patient payments via electronic remit posting or manual posting.
- Prepares and reviews routine billing reports to ensure timely and accurate billing activity.
- Recommends process improvements based on findings.

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma / GED
- Must be 18 years of age OR older
- 1+ years of healthcare billing experience
- Experience with Microsoft Word (create correspondence and work within templates), Microsoft Excel (data entry, sort / filter, and work within tables) and Microsoft Outlook (email and calendar management)
- Ability to work Monday – Friday, 08:00AM – 04:30PM EST
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ years of EPIC experience
Telecommuting Requirements:
- Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
- Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
- Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.00 – $27.69 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
