Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers, providing guidance, feedback, and support for professional growth
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, and operations, to define project requirements and goals
- Ensure high-quality engineering practices and maintain technical standards within the team
- Conduct design and code reviews to ensure code developed meets coding best practices guidelines, unit testing, security, and scalability and maintainability guidelines
- Develop and implement long-term strategies for engineering initiatives that align with the company’s goals and objectives
- Manage the engineering team’s workload and resource allocation to optimize productivity and efficiency
- Implement best practices for software development, testing, and deployment
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive innovation within the team
- Encourage and support the exploration of new tools, technologies, and methodologies that can enhance the team’s capabilities
- Thought Leadership: Propose and implement best in class architectural solution for big and complex systems
- Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related STEM discipline
- 5+ years of software development (hands-on coding/building software) in distributed systems
- 4+ years of hands-on-experience using cloud native offerings in AWS (preferred), Azure
