The Senior Operational Trainer will be responsible for the effective delivery of training for new business initiatives, new and existing training programs that encompass training of Health Benefit Account products and services.

The Senior Operational Trainer will be a self-starter with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who promotes optimal training outcomes through:

  • Continual collaboration with stakeholders and operational leaders
  • Assessment and analysis of training needs
  • Timely, planning, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of training
  • Participation in the design of training materials and curriculum to support training programs

If you are located in Draper, UT, you will have the flexibility to work remotely* as you take on some tough challenges. 

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Prepares for and supports effective training facilitation appropriate for the adult learner
  • Manages/supports the learning environment
  • Measures and enhances learning effectiveness
  • Establish effective working relationships with all levels of staff and management
  • Solves moderately complex problems and/or conducts moderately complex analyses
  • Works with minimal guidance
  • Acts as an advocate for the customer and the customer experience
  • Coaches, provides feedback, and guides others
  • Participates in the development of training curriculum and resource materials
  • Supports/backs-up other members of the training team
  • Provide leadership within the classroom or virtual classroom environment
  • Complete administrative tasks to include sending of daily training reports, new hire performance dashboard, performance tracker
  • Create training materials and facilitate refresher training throughout the year
  • Identify gaps and opportunities for improved training experience

Required Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma or higher degree
  • 1+ years trainer/facilitator experience
  • 1+ years virtual environment experience
  • 1+ years adult learning experience
  • 1+ years working with Microsoft suite including Teams, SharePoint and Shared Drives
  • Ability to travel up to 15%

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience with leading & facilitating training for adult learners, to various audiences, in a classroom or virtual environment
  • Demonstrated communicator with skills to flex to different audiences at different levels of understanding and seniority
  • Demonstrated facilitation and presentation skills with the capability to engage, inspire and teach adult learners at all levels
  • Demonstrated excellent communication, planning, and time management skills
  • Ability to focus and work effectively in a complex and change-oriented work environment
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Ability to effectively deal with ambiguity – can effectively cope with change, can shift gears comfortably, can decide and act without having the total picture, comfortably handles risk and uncertainty in a manner consistent with UnitedHealth Group’s core values
