This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday – Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00am – 4:30pm CST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime. Our office is located at 2925 Chicago Avenue Minneapolis, MN 55407.

We offer 4 weeks of paid training. The hours during training will be 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday – Friday.  Training will be conducted onsite.

                                                         

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Reviews electronic chart documentation ensuring correct patient, location, and no duplicate information.
  • Processes release of information (ROI) requests.
  • Manages requests for documentation and information.
  • Scans and edits documents in the electronic medical record.
  • Locates, logs, retrieves, files, and delivers medical records stored in various mediums and systems.
  • May train and mentor co-workers.
  • Analyzes documentation and tracks completion to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Promotes principles of health information accuracy, transparency, currency, accessibility, relevancy, and reliability.
  • Work with Microsoft Word, Excel (create, edit, save documents and spreadsheets) and Outlook (email and calendar management.)
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED or equivalent experience
  • Must be 18 years of age OR older
  • 1+ years of Customer Service experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products
  • Must live within a commutable distance from 2925 Chicago Avenue Minneapolis, MN 55407
  • Ability to travel between local healthcare facilities
  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) Monday – Friday. Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of customer service experience
  • RHIT or RHIA certification
  • Bilingual – English/Spanish
  • Clerical or administrative support background
  • Experience working within the health care Industry and with health care insurance
  • Experience working in a hospital, physician’s office or medical clinic setting
  • Experience working in a call center
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Knowledge of federal and state programs that will benefit coverage for clients
  • Previous experience communicating with patients & staff with various educational & socio-economic backgrounds
