The Senior Director of Cloud Engineering will lead the cloud engineering team in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable cloud solutions. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of cloud technologies, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to drive innovation and efficiency in cloud operations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Strategy: Develop and execute the cloud engineering strategy aligned with the company’s goals. Lead a team of cloud engineers, providing mentorship and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
  • Cloud Architecture: Design and oversee the implementation of cloud architectures that are secure, scalable, and cost-effective. Ensure that cloud solutions meet business requirements and adhere to best practices
  • Project Management: Manage multiple cloud projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables
  • Operational Excellence: Implement and maintain robust cloud operations, including monitoring, performance tuning, and disaster recovery. Ensure high availability and reliability of cloud services
  • Security and Compliance: Ensure that cloud solutions comply with industry standards and regulations. Implement security best practices to protect data and applications in the cloud
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with cloud service providers and other third-party vendors. Negotiate contracts and ensure that services are delivered as per agreements
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the cloud engineering budget. Optimize cloud spending and ensure cost-effective use of resources.
  • Innovation and Research: Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in cloud computing. Evaluate new tools and technologies to enhance the cloud infrastructure
  • Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 12+ years of experience in cloud engineering or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
    • Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
    • Solid understanding of cloud architecture and design principles
    • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Go
    • Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
    • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
  • Proven excellent leadership and team management skills
  • Solid problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Proven effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications in cloud technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert)
  • Experience with multi-cloud environments
  • Knowledge of security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., SOC2, HIPAA)
