Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist physical therapists in implementing treatment plans for patients with orthopedic conditions, including musculoskeletal injuries and post-surgical recovery
- Perform therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and modalities as directed by the physical therapist.
- Educate patients on proper body mechanics, exercises, and home programs to promote recovery and prevent future injuries
- Monitor and document patient progress, including changes in physical condition and response to treatment
- Collaborate with the physical therapy team to adjust treatment plans as needed based on patient progress
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient treatments, progress notes, and any other required records
- Ensure a clean, safe, and organized treatment environment, including the proper maintenance and sterilization of equipment
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient concerns and communicating effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals
- Adhere to clinic policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including HIPAA guidelines and state licensing regulations

Required Qualifications:
- High School education or equivalent experience
- Associate’s degree in Physical Therapy Assistant from an accredited program
- Current California licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)
- 2+ years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a high volume outpatient orthopedic setting
- Proven solid knowledge of orthopedic conditions, rehabilitation techniques, and therapeutic modalities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and team members
- Ability to perform physical tasks required for patient care, including lifting, transferring, and assisting with mobility
- Proficient in using electronic health records (EHR) systems and other relevant technology
California Residents Only: The hourly range for California residents is $23.22 to $45.43 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
