Data Engineering Consultant – Azure Databricks, Data Factory, Power BI

This position will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing our data infrastructure and pipelines. This role requires an individual with robust experience in data engineering, a deep understanding of data modeling, and proficiency in networking concepts. Additionally, familiarity with Power BI for data visualization and business intelligence will be an asset.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes to support data integration from various sources
- Develop and optimize data models to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and performance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and business partners to understand data requirements and deliver high-quality data solutions
- Implement and manage data storage solutions, including relational databases and data lakes
- Ensure data quality and integrity through rigorous testing and validation including automated testing
- Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline performance and data-related issues
- Develop and maintain documentation for data engineering processes and data models
- Utilize Power BI to create insightful data visualizations and reports to support business decision-making
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices in data engineering and data modeling
- Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:
- Computer Science bachelor’s degree or similar
- Good experience handling real-time, near real-time and batch data ingestions
- Hands on experience on the following technologies:
- Developing processes in Spark/Scala/Python
- Writing complex SQL queries
- Building ETL or data pipelines
- Proficiency in Azure Cloud services, including Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Data Warehouse, Azure Data Lake Storage, and Azure Analytics
- Understanding of data modeling concepts and relational database systems, with expertise in Azure Data Warehouse
- Familiarity with Databricks for data engineering, advanced analytics, and machine learning tasks
- Good understanding of Data Modelling techniques
- Proven excellent understanding of Column-Store RDBMS (DataBricks, Snowflake)
- Proven excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex data-related issues
- Proven solid communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Proven solid programming skills in Python, and other scripting languages
- Proven track record of designing effective data strategies and leveraging modern data architectures that resulted in business value
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal, influence, collaboration and listening skills
- Proven solid stakeholder management skills
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
