This position is with UnitedHealthcare’s Specialty Benefits accounting team. This is a highly visible financial reporting project management role with a solid emphasis on GAAP accounting, regulatory compliance, and IT integration. The primary responsibility of this role is to implement State Minimum Loss Ratio mandates (DLR) for UHC Dental business.
The individual must be able to read and interpret legislations and regulations and be able to assess impact to accounting, finance, reporting, and other functions. The individual in this role will lead cross-functional teams including controllership, regulatory reporting, legal and compliance, actuarial and IT in ensuring compliance with state specific DLR regulations. You will also partner with IT and Financial Data Management (FDM) teams in implementing a rebate payment processes for all UHC entities impacted by the DLR regulations.
This position will also have responsibility for financial accounting (GAAP/STAT/MLR) and reporting for a block of Government contracts.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Analyze new legislative requirements and determine their implications for accounting practices, ensuring that the accounting teams are informed and prepared to meet compliance requirements
- Oversee the development and execution of Dental Loss Ratio (DLR) reporting processes to comply with new state laws affecting the UnitedHealthcare (UHC) Dental business
- Manage projects aimed at identifying and resolving data gaps and issues, ensuring that all necessary information is available and accurate for the DLR reporting
- Support development of reporting templates, rebate, and data extraction processes to meet the specific requirements of new state legislation regarding DLR
- Act as a primary point of contact and expert for addressing and resolving complex or critical issues related to DLR reporting and compliance
- Work closely with regulatory, accounting, and legal teams to ensure that all reporting and compliance activities meet legal and regulatory standards
- Keep a detailed record of all relevant legislation and regularly update leadership teams on the status and impact of these laws on the business
- Ensure that all reporting deliverables are completed on time, are auditable, and contain accurate data, providing necessary support and documentation
- Review work performed by reporting teams, assign tasks, and provide constructive feedback to ensure high-quality reporting

Required Qualifications:
- Undergraduate Degree in Accounting or Finance
- 4+ years of experience in accounting and reporting
- Proficiency in MS Excel and other MS Office Suit applications
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA
- Healthcare Industry reporting experience
- Experience with financial project management
- Experience with SQL or SAS

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
