The primary responsibility of Senior Technical Project Manager is to manage teams and projects that deliver high quality system solutions. They are involved in the definition, management, and implementation of technology focused projects. The Senior Technical Project Manager shall have complete understanding of the project life cycle and ability to independently manage teams of 4-6 members while partnering with the Technical Manager to ensure quality delivery of system solutions.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Define project scope, deliverables, schedules, and tasks
- Estimate project duration and resource requirements
- Identify and communicate issues or risks with project deliverables
- Work with technical team members to liaise between clients, technology, and vendors when troubleshooting problems
- Manage agile team activities including Sprint planning, daily SCRUM stand-ups and retrospective meetings
- Partner with the Technical Manager on information technology matters
- Conduct project kickoff, steering committee, team meetings, brainstorming sessions and other project meeting facilitation
- Bring “continuous improvement” and learning mindset to the team and encourage learning and professional growth in others
- Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- 3-5+ years of experience in IT project management
- Agile management experience using SCRUM methodologies and agile software
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of Tools (Word, Excel, Visio)
- Proven track record managing projects using agile software development methodology and delivering projects on time and on budget
- Proven ability to manage a team of 4-6 members
- Proven detail oriented, with solid organizational, planning, prioritization and analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail
- Proven ability to write Business and Technical Requirements, User Interface design, Test Scenarios, Test Cases, Training documentation
- Proven ability to balance multiple tasks with competing priorities across multiple projects
- Proven ability to work with minimal guidance; seeks guidance on only the most complex tasks
- Proven excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills and technical documentation. Provides explanations and information to others on difficult issues
- Proven solid interpersonal skills; ability to build and maintain solid relationships
Preferred Qualifications:
- Rally software experience
- SQL experience
