Principal Software Engineer – Terraform

Primary Responsibilities:
- Builds and maintains applications for deployment, monitoring and operations, troubleshoots and resolves issues within AWS environments, including network, security, storage, and compute-related problems
- Drive & lead technical decisions, design discussions, review artifacts and implementation of the platform / services
- Ensure Well-architected principles and engineering best practices are followed to build a secure, high-performing, resilient and scalable services
- Automate routine operational tasks, ensuring efficiency and reliability in day-to-day operations
- Implement security best practices to keep data safe and control who can access resources
- Manage code deployment and release via GitHub actions / Jenkins and help in troubleshooting issues with existing CI/CD pipeline
- Guide the team development efforts towards successful project delivery
- Identify and encourage areas for growth and improvement within the team
- Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of experience in Application support and Maintenance
- 5+ years of professional experience in AWS or other cloud architecture
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with cloud Infrastructure and services
- 3+ hands on Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
- 3+ years of programming in Python
- Solid experience in CI/CD pipelines and integration with in GitHub Actions / Jenkins
- Experience in designing / integrating REST APIs with third-party services
- Solid knowledge of cloud security practices and AWS IAM roles/policies
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Kubernates and Docker container images.
- Experience working in an Agile development environment
- Experience with IT compliance and risk management requirements (e.g. security, privacy, HIPAA etc.)
