The candidate selected to oversee product management resources for Optum Rx Specialty Programs, a $120 million capital initiative commencing in 2025, will play a pivotal role in engaging with various initiatives supported by the team. This position involves cultivating relationships with both business and technology partners while providing guidance and coaching to the team on PM and agile best practices. The role will also be responsible for expanding the PM resource hierarchy, specifically for SG 29, 28, and 27 positions, to facilitate Specialty Modernization initiatives. As the business and technology teams within Optum Rx transition additional resources to India, ORx Tech will assume a greater number of PM roles to bolster the business capability teams.
In the capacity of a Sr Digital Product Mgr at Optum, your duties will encompass the management of the product roadmap, ensuring that product delivery aligns with customer expectations, among other responsibilities. A key aspect of your role will involve developing product vision, mission, and roadmap documents. You will be tasked with assessing product requirements specifications and prioritizing features based on their significance. Collaborating with stakeholders, you will define product roadmaps while integrating market and technical insights throughout the development process. You will serve as the primary authority on the product’s overall capabilities and will work closely with the development team to ensure successful outcomes. Ultimately, your goal will be to enhance customer satisfaction and improve the Net Promoter Score (NPS). The specific responsibilities include, but not limited to the following are:
- The Sr Digital Product Mgr shall create the vision, mission, and roadmap for the product
- This Sr Digital Product Mgr shall work closely with onsite & offshore teams for the requirements analysis & solutions design
- The Sr Digital Product Mgr shall play a leading role in managing the product backlog and crafting user stories and sign off on feature acceptance, all the while adhering to the agile process constituted for the managing the project
- The Sr Digital Product Mgr shall interface with the architecture and engineering teams for assessing capabilities and alternatives and own the definition and prioritization of product releases
- The Sr Digital Product Mgr shall create release notes, demo scripts, conduct feature demos for stakeholders, and conduct product demos for stakeholders/clients
- The Sr Digital Product Mgr shall manage a team of product management professionals, providing guidance on product management best practices, coaching, mentoring, training and support to foster an environment for their professional development and success in their role
Primary Responsibilities:
- Establish collaborative “trusted advisor” relationship with business and technology constituents and partners
- Define and drive product strategy and roadmap for products
- Clearly articulate product vision, strategy, and roadmap to engineering team effectively as and when needed
- Create, maintain and present audience-appropriate material on product capabilities, roadmap, status and dependencies to team, peers and executive leadership
- Collaborate with UX, architecture and engineering team to drive product design
- Identify and access relevant data to build compelling business case in self-directed manner
- Prioritize backlog at feature and user story level with complete understanding of feature set
- Drive system demo to stakeholders and customers
- Identify potential issues and pro-actively develop mitigation plans
- Build and drive culture of innovation in the portfolio
- Drive continuous improvement in product management practice and disciplines, including intake and backlog refinement, grooming and agile delivery
- Effective action on feedback received during retro meetings

Role is required to expand India product management team to support Specialty Modernization initiatives for 2025. Both the business and technology teams in Optum Rx are shifting additional resource mix to India and Philippines from a cost management perspective, and ORx Tech will also take on more product management roles supporting the Optum Rx business capability teams. This role is needed to continue to expand the resource pyramid in the future with SG27 roles based on capital demand alignment.
Required Qualifications:
- MBA/MCA/BE/B.Tech/MTech/MSc Computer Science (with BSc Computer Science) with sound knowledge of Business Analyst/Product Owner
- 9+ years of experience in Software Industry as product owner, business analyst and Sr. Sr Digital Product Mgr.
- US Healthcare experience is a MUST Have requirement for the Sr. Sr Digital Product Mgr Position
- Extensive knowledge and experience in Greenfield Product Development, MVP, and Product Launch
- Extensive knowledge of the healthcare industry, including segment financial structures and business practices
- Proficient in the delineation and execution of product strategies and roadmaps
- Proficient in discerning business prospects that capitalize on technological advancements and spearheading enhancements to product functionalities
- Proficient in the process of establishing user/buyer personas and converting decision criteria and user/buyer requirements into actionable plans
- Proficient in the evaluation, analysis, and projection of data with respect to operational and business strategy
- Proficient in procuring market intelligence, evaluating the competitive environment, and proposing product strategy throughout the product lifecycle
- Proficient in conducting cost-benefit analyses and monitoring forecasts to verify that the product is operating as anticipated
- Proficient in utilizing data-driven insights and optimal methodologies to enhance product performance
- Proficient knowledge of workflow, process enhancement, benchmarking, and/or assessment of enterprise processes
- Well versed with Enterprise Application workflow, Platforms, and API Orchestration system
- Proven astute logical reasoning & and effective communication skills
- Proven ability to collaborate with the stakeholder team, comprehend the requirements of the business, and convert them into functionalities and user stories, and possess a solid comprehension of the Agile methodology
- Proven ability to develop user experience, non-user function, and functional specifications for the product
