Supporting Optum Bank, Inc., you will work directly with a Board of Directors, advise a Bank senior leadership team, and lead a team of lawyers and paraprofessionals to support the delivery of healthcare related banking products and services to individuals and providers.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Apply and interpret federal and state banking, lending, consumer finance, and other related requirements governing financial institutions to address a wide array of legal and regulatory matters; advising and assisting clients with both technical and practical application of the relevant legal requirements; identifying and assessing compliance risk and appropriate implementation steps and corrective measures; and developing compliant policies, procedures, guidelines, disclosures, and training materials
- Position will include extensive legal research, direct interaction with clients and regulators, and drafting of formal and informal correspondence and memoranda
- Reviewing and analyzing company operations and documents to determine whether companies are operating in accordance with laws governing the financial services industry
- Oversee and be accountable for the delivery of legal services and related support to Optum Bank
- Collaborating with colleagues across the UnitedHealth Group legal department
- Proactively identifying and resolving legal and related matters impacting Optum
- Assisting in the review, preparation and negotiation of various products, documents and contracts associated with Optum business
- Participating in and leading negotiations with key customers and vendors
- Developing best practices for addressing emerging legal and business risks
- Supporting Optum in the development and delivery of new products working in partnership with the Legal, Compliance, Regulatory Affairs teams and product development teams
- Counseling senior management on strategic business initiatives
- Managing outside counsel
- Fostering key internal and regulatory relationships
The successful candidate will possess solid verbal and written communication skills, sound judgment and business instincts. The ability to lead projects and change is also critical. The ability to delegate work and operate in a matrixed environment will be important qualities for the successful candidate. Prior law firm and in-house experience are desired.

Required Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate degree
- Licensed to practice law in any U.S. jurisdiction
- 10+ years of experience with banking, commercial lending, consumer finance, and other related requirements governing financial institutions
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with industrial banking
- Knowledge of state and federal health care, insurance, privacy and related laws

The salary range for this role is $150,200 to $288,500 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
