Infrastructure and Ops Engineer

Primary Responsibilities:
- Physical Server Provisioning / Installation:
- Manage the end-to-end process of installing physical servers, ensuring timely and efficient deployment
- Collaborate with the onshore capacity team to understand and meet server requirements
- Work closely with data center personal to ensure accurate and timely deployment of physical servers
- Vendor Management:
- Communicate with hardware vendors to procure, configure, and maintain physical servers
- Negotiate contracts and service agreements to ensure cost-effective and high-quality service delivery
- Capacity Planning and Management:
- Monitor and analyze server capacity to ensure optimal performance and scalability
- Develop and implement strategies for capacity forecasting and resource allocation
- Manage hardware inventory parts and servers
- Infrastructure Maintenance:
- Perform regular maintenance and updates on physical servers to ensure reliability and security
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues in a timely manner
- Co-ordination with hardware maintenance vendor to remediate issues
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed documentation of server configurations, processes, and procedures
- Generate regular reports on server performance, capacity utilization, and project status
- Collaboration and Support:
- Work closely with the onshore capacity team to align infrastructure capabilities with business needs
- Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so
Required Qualifications:
- Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Electrical Engineering, or degree from a reputed university within related field
- Certifications:
- Relevant certifications on Infrastructure such as A+ (Hardware focused)
- Experience:
- 7 years of experience in infrastructure management, preferably in a large-scale data center environment
- Proven track record of working with onshore and offshore teams
- Technical Skills:
- Experience with capacity planning and resource allocation
- SQL & Scripting / Python knowledge would be a plus
- Familiarity with vendor management and procurement processes
- Solid understanding of server hardware and network infrastructure
- Soft Skills:
- Proven excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with vendors and team members
- Proven solid problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Additional Requirements:
- Understanding of industry standards and best practices in infrastructure management
- Proven ability to stay updated with the latest technologies and trends in the field
