The Payroll Analyst is responsible for running payroll, balancing, trouble-shooting and coordinating efficient processes on a bi-weekly basis.  This position must maintain good relationships with business unit clients, other HC departments and vendors on a consistent basis.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Identify new processes or changes to existing payroll systems processes
  • Act as a functional SME for Payroll Technology
  • Partner People Business Analysis and Technology team on trouble shooting and resolution of system issues
  • Make recommendations to improve efficiency and effectiveness within PeopleSoft
  • Accurate run control and creation of payroll, including mass uploads
  • Contribute to the creation of monitoring processes to assess the quality of Payroll and HR data; ensure accurate payroll runs each pay period
  • Create and assist with data queries for internal People Team Operations customers and necessary audit requests
  • Research and identify root causes for problems and own the resolution
  • Review and assist with revision of run control, job stream management and interface management
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of employees
  • Collaborate with Benefits, Wealth, Rewards, Compensation and communities in the support of People Team business initiatives
  • Maintain effective relationships with key internal and external customers and vendors
  • Support acquisition initiatives related to payroll and employee integration
  • Develop queries and reports for auditing payroll data and preventing errors
  • Assist with testing for fixes, enhancements, upgrades to PeopleSoft and other platforms that team interfaces with
  • Other projects as assigned
  • Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate
  • 3+ years professional experience
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Visio; i.e., Word – documentation purposes; Excel – data mining and reporting, handling calculations, formulas and Vlookups; Visio – documentation purposes
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks with hard deadlines simultaneously
  • Proven project documentation discipline
  • Proven solid analytical, problem-solving skills and payroll related technical skills
  • Proven excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work various hours as needed to support payroll processing

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Healthcare experience and SQL experience
  • Knowledge of North American Payroll, Core HR and Time & Labor
