Primary Responsibilities:

- Leadership and Management:
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of talented software engineers, fostering a collaborative, innovative, and high-performance work environment
- Conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and support the professional growth and development of team members
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team
- Microservices Development:
- Oversee the end-to-end design, development, and deployment of Microservices applications, ensuring they meet scalability, reliability, and performance standards
- Collaborate with architects and senior engineers to define the technical roadmap and architecture for Microservices solutions
- Ensure adherence to best practices in coding, testing, and deployment
- Integration:
- Manage the integration of Microservices with cross-functional applications, ensuring seamless interoperability and efficient data flow
- Work closely with other engineering teams to identify and resolve integration challenges
- Implement and maintain robust API gateways and service mesh technologies to facilitate integration
- Project Management:
- Take ownership of project deliverables, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards
- Develop detailed project plans, allocate resources effectively, and monitor progress against milestones
- Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders in a timely and transparent manner
- Technical Expertise:
- Provide technical guidance and support to the team, leveraging your expertise in software engineering best practices and modern development methodologies
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, and evaluate their potential impact on the organization
- Drive the adoption of new tools and technologies to enhance productivity and quality
- Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, QA, and operations, to align on project goals and deliverables
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between engineering teams and other departments
- Represent the engineering team in meetings with senior management and external partners
- Continuous Improvement:
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the team, promoting the adoption of new technologies and methodologies to enhance productivity and quality
- Implement and refine processes to improve efficiency, reduce technical debt, and ensure the delivery of high-quality software
- Foster a culture of innovation and experimentation, encouraging team members to explore new ideas and approaches
- Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so
Required Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership role
- Technical Skills:
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Proficiency in Microservices architecture, Java, Spring Boot, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- People Management:
- Proven experience in managing and mentoring software engineering teams, with strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain a positive team culture, promoting collaboration and accountability
- Project Management:
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with a track record of delivering high-quality software solutions on time
- Proven solid organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Problem-Solving:
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions
- Proven solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with API gateways and service mesh technologies
- Familiarity with container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes
- Knowledge of security best practices in software development
