As the Senior Business Analyst and a key member of the Risk and Quality Operations (RQO) team, you will play an important role in delivering UnitedHealth Group’s mission of helping people live healthier lives. The primary responsibility of this position will be to ensure client delivery of supplemental data from Optum coding projects for prospective and retrospective chart review services. The data is delivered to its clients in a format that can be used for submission to the Centers for Medicare/Medicaid Services (CMS) or the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) for risk adjustment payments. The Business Analyst will be responsible for monitoring throughput from upstream business partners, ongoing reconciliation activities, analysis of discrepancies, and implementing new products and clients. Primary Roles & Responsibilities of a Senior Business Analyst role:

• Collaborate with cross functional teams to enhance customer satisfaction and proactively address client requests, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the entire client data flow
• Create and manage operational throughput reports using tools such as SQL, Excel and ETL tools like Talend
• Identify and implement process improvements to drive revenue growth, ensure high-quality service, streamline operations, reduce costs, and eliminate manual intervention
• Demonstrate understanding of how end-to-end business processes impacts throughput and error rates
• Analyze metrics and trends to identify potential defects and take proactive measures to address them
• Conduct error remediation in advance of CMS/HHS deadlines
• Manage file creation, quality assurance, and delivery for assigned clients
• Assist with Operational Readiness tasks such as client implementations, setting up ECG connections for data exchange, performing UAT and integration testing
• Take shared accountability for the team’s Audit Controls and Support initiatives

Required Qualifications of a Senior Business Analyst role:
•    Proven business analysis experience in healthcare industry
•    Intermediate proficiency in SQL (Oracle, PL/SQL, SQL, SQL*Plus) – ability to pull and analyze data, as well as update and alter internal tables
•    Intermediate experience in Excel (pivot tables, V or H look ups, data validation, creating internal/external reports)
•    Solid communication and organizational skills
•    Ability to research conflicting and/or inaccurate data and determine root cause
•    Proven experience in acting independently with minimal supervision
•    Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products (Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
•    Strong relationship-building skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders in performing the role

Preferred Qualifications:
•    Risk Adjustment experience desired
•    Proficiency in ETL tools, like Talend, SSIS, or Alteryx
•    Visio Experience
•    Client engagement experience
•    Demonstrated experience with project methodology (requirements, design, development, test and implementation)
