Positions in this function design, engineer, and manage the organization’s infrastructure and operational platforms. From a cloud services model, this includes services commonly thought of as IaaS and PaaS and their underlying foundational components. Additionally, this function also has responsibility for traditional enterprise infrastructure and operational platforms such as email, file transfer, and collaboration technologies, among others. This role must understand functional and non-functional requirements to ensure they can be achieved through system design and engineering to meet the needs of the customers. Work closely with business and technology stakeholders to develop roadmaps for their respective technology portfolios, resolve cross-system and domain dependencies, ensure effective integration among the services offered to the end customer, and efficient usage of infrastructure and operational platforms. Monitor technological advancements and industry trends to influence company standards and ensure that solutions are continuously improved and maintained through product management practices, including recommendations to invest in a solution or retirement of redundant or out-of-date systems. Understand the interactions between systems, the applications and services hosted, and evaluate the impact of changes and additions. Perform analysis on existing systems to ensure performance and reliability, enhance scalability, meet security requirements, and interoperable and maintainable technology portfolio. Generally work is self-directed and not prescribed.

Primary Responsibilities:

• I O Engineer – Role is a Technical engineer that will deliver business solutions on the IBM Power Systems platform for Optum.  This individual will provide technical expertise for configuration and support of IBM Power Systems, The engineer sill be responsible for infrastructure management of systems supporting FISMA, RxClaims adjudication and managed servers including:

  •    Performs firmware updates to servers and multiple I/O cards.
  •    The creation of LPARS for new servers.
  •    Support of system role swaps
  •    Create virtual IO servers (VIOS) lpars.
  •    Provide integration planning and operational support.
  •    Works problem tickets and perform ongoing system maintenance
  •    Provides On-Call production support of hardware systems
  •    Create and maintain documentation for IP, hardware ans storage zoning

  The individual will also work problem tickets and perform ongoing system maintenance as directed by manager.  Must be able to work with global teams and within a matrixed organization.  Excellent troubleshooting skills with transaction failures or transfer issues are required.  Must take ownership and accountability with work product and drive to meet Service Level Agreement turnaround times with a focus on sustainability and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications:
•    3+ years of experience with IBM Power Systems infrastructure
o    Production Monitoring and using various monitoring tools
o    Root cause analysis
o    Advanced troubleshooting
•    3+ years of experience with HMC Configurations
•    2+ years of SQL experience 
•    Experience supporting applications running on IBMi 
Preferred Qualifications:
•    Experience on various IBM Products/Tools: 
o    Secure Transfer Protocols
o    IP Configuration knowledge
•    2+ years of MS Office tools experience including advanced Excel skills.
•    1+ years of Linux experience including Shell and Perl scripting
•    1+ years of storage zoning
•    Knowledge on Cloud technologies like Azure, DevOps methodologies, Containers
