Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and Implement Technology Strategies: Create and execute technology strategies that align with the organization’s overall business objectives. This includes overseeing the development and implementation of new technologies and ensuring they meet the needs of the organization
- Manage Technology Resources: Oversee the management of the organization’s technology resources, including hardware, software, and data. Ensure that these resources are used efficiently and effectively
- Oversee IT Operations: Manage the day-to-day operations of the IT department, including monitoring system performance, resolving technical issues, and ensuring the smooth operation of all IT systems
- Lead Learning and Development Initiatives: Analyze the organization’s development needs and align L&D activities with broader business objectives. Conduct skills gap analyses to identify areas requiring improvement and develop comprehensive L&D strategies
- Manage Projects and Budgets: Oversee technology-related projects, including software development and implementation. This includes managing project timelines, budgets, and resources
- Ensure Technology Security: Implement security measures to protect the organization’s technology infrastructure. Monitor for potential threats and respond to security incidents
- Provide Leadership and Guidance: Lead and mentor the technology team, setting goals, providing training, and creating a positive work environment
- Stay Up-to-Date with Industry Developments: Keep current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices to make informed decisions that benefit the organization
- Collaborate with Other Departments: Work closely with other departments, such as marketing, IT, and customer service, to ensure that technology initiatives support the overall goals of the organization
- Enhance Employee Value Proposition and Experience: Facilitate reuse through business and technology alignment, deliver on financial and quality commitments, and improve the organization’s brand and Net Promoter Score (NPS)
- Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so
Technology Knowledge:
- Develop and implement technology-based learning programs, including online courses, workshops, and training sessions
- Assess training needs and ensure learning programs align with business goals
- Measure the effectiveness of learning and development programs and make improvements as needed
- Stay current with the latest trends and advancements in technology and incorporate them into learning programs
- Mentor and support junior developers and learning and development team members
- Passionate about leading engineering teams and learning and development for a large organization
- Solid focus on cybersecurity and ensuring compliance with enterprise risk team requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field is essential. A master’s degree or higher in a relevant field is preferred
- Experience: Extensive experience in technology management, including a proven track record of leading and managing technology teams. Experience in Learning and Development, as well as engineering, is highly desirable
- Project Management: Proven experience in managing large-scale technology projects, including budgeting, resource allocation, and timeline management
- Collaboration: Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Solid knowledge of Cloud, AI/ML, Python, Java and other full-stack engineering languages
- Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of current and emerging technologies, including software development, IT infrastructure, and cybersecurity
- Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and best practices in technology and Learning and Development
- Leadership Skills: Proven solid leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams. Experience in mentoring and developing talent within the organization
- Strategic Thinking: Proven ability to develop and implement technology strategies that align with the organization’s goals and objectives
- Communication Skills: Proven excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Proven solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address technical challenges
