At Optum, our Payer Admin Product team is focused on delivering innovative solutions that ensure accurate payment by driving transparency to Payer specific requirements across the Revenue Cycle.
   
The Sr. Technical Product Manager will collaborate with the Strategic Product manager to drive product execution. In this role, you must be able to effectively communicate complex concepts with vendors, customers, co-workers and management, both verbally and in writing. You must balance a self-motivated, independent work ethic with the desire to educate and assist others. Organization, prioritization, attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure are all crucial.  Must have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Executing on the Product strategy  
  • Prioritize and manage the product backlog, ensuring that features are delivered on time and within budget  
  • Engage appropriate cross-team members to ensure dependencies are aligned
  • Balances deep subject matter expertise with knowledge of business use cases and solid technical aptitude
  • Delivering product performance in alignment with expectations, and updates changes to a product portfolio to improve competitive position and produce optimal product performance to meet customer and market needs
  • Accountable for any playbooks / product fact sheets that will need to be created to market use cases to additional consumers
  • Must be able to liaison with the architecture, engineering and business partner to ensure business needs are appropriately understood, and transposed to the product teams
  • Serve as the product champion and apply deep expertise to credibly represent, manage and engage with business(es) 
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends, and evaluate their potential impact on the product

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience as a Technical Product Manager or similar role, with a track record of successful product launches, with 8+ years of experience in product management 
  • 3+ years of experience in Payer adjudication, Payment Integrity or Payer Third Party Administration
  • Experience in the healthcare domain  
  • Experience with agile development methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban  
  • Solid understanding of APIs, and work experience with API management platforms
  • Familiarity with project management tools, such as Rally and Aha
  • Proven solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making

  • Proven excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams  
  • Proven solid business acumen, with the ability to align product strategy with overall business goals 
  • Proven solid customer focus, with the ability to gather and understand customer needs

The salary range for this role is $106,800 to $194,200 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
