The Optum Rx Business Intelligence Centre of Excellence provides accurate, traceable business information using production data sources that offers actionable insight and enables faster decision-making. As a Principal Data Analyst, you will join a team of developers dedicated to delivering the highest standards of reporting, user interaction, and documentation to ensure that users have the confidence they need to make crucial business decisions. You will work closely with business users to understand their needs and priorities, with the autonomy to come up with solutions, supported by an experienced team. The team is part of a wider Data Strategy and Analytics group, giving you access to leading-edge tools for ideation, data processing, and visualisation. What you bring is the enthusiasm to understand business problems and the tenacity to solve them using your data visualisation skills

Primary Responsibilities:
• Lead development of business solutions by engaging with senior leaders and business teams to understand business priorities
• Address the most challenging business needs by performing complex analysis and applying your data engineering and visualization skills
• Collaborate with users to provide insight to their business strategy
• Communicate complex business problems and your solutions to audiences including senior leaders
• Collaborate with data strategy and IT partners to access and enhance data products
• Provide guidance and mentoring to other team members based on your experience and expertise

Required Qualifications:
• Degree Qualified (BA, BSc) in relevant field (analytics, mathematics, economics, business, statistics, engineering, or finance) or equivalent experience
• Proven significant experience in data analysis with the ability to interpret complex data and generate actionable insights
• Expertise in Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, SQL, Python, or other ETL tools
• Expertise in data visualisation and reporting tools such as Power BI
Preferred Qualifications:
• Certification in some Azure technology such as Databricks
• Experience with Agile development methodology
• Experience in the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry
