The UHC Stars Business Intelligence team is committed to utilizing modern reporting technologies on timely, accurate and complete data to drive effective Stars quality improvement initiatives, thereby improving health outcomes for our members. As a Senior Data Analyst within the team, you will collaborate closely with our business partners to understand their needs and priorities, leading the development of innovative reports and analytics.

Primary Responsibilities of the Senior Data Analyst: 

•    Collaborate with our business partners, SMEs, and BAs to ensure a shared understanding of business requirements.
•    Create wireframes to explore and confirm business requirements.
•    Plan and manage the ingestion of source data into the Cloud platform.
•    Develop efficient, well-structured, and maintainable ETL processes.
•    Build responsive and user-friendly reports while adhering to style guides and UI best practices.
•    Develop and maintain technical and user documentation.
•    Comply with design and coding standards, policies, and procedures.
•    Communicate with various functional areas, translating technical concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences, both verbally and in writing.
•    Leverage new technologies to drive innovation in data analytics as applied to healthcare and meet emerging customer requirements.

Required Qualifications of the Senior Data Analyst:

•    Technical undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification.
•    Proven experience performing and leading significant data analysis and report development with accountability for work presented to senior management.
•    Strong SQL experience, including experience with various database technologies such as Snowflake, MS SQL Server.
•    Extensive experience with data visualization and reporting tools such as Power BI, Power BI Report Builder/SSRS, Tableau.
•    Strong design skills to understand user needs and provide visual solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

•    A strong portfolio showcasing Power BI or Tableau projects.
•    Experience orchestrating pipelines using tools such as Airflow, Azure Data Factory.
•    Programming experience, e.g., Python.
•    Experience leading and implementing data quality initiatives.
•    Experience with Agile methodology.
•    Core design skills, including the ability to establish visual hierarchy, layout, typography, and color.
•    Experience working with healthcare analytical products or datasets.
