Position supports Optum Behavioral Care (OBC). This position will provide analytic support for OBC initiatives to develop and expand this new business. This position is critical to the development of analytics to provide insights to OBC teammates and leadership.

Optum Behavioral Care (OBC) is seeking candidates to serve as Data Analyst. The Data Analyst role is critical to helping scope, plan, and execute critical tasks and deliverables which will enable leadership and teammates.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collect and understand business requirements for dataset creation as determined by leadership.
  • Work independently to develop code to extract health insurance claims data, health care operational data, and clinical data from a variety of data sources
  • Perform data cleansing, transformation, aggregation, summarization, visualization, and output datasets for end users
  • Investigate data quality issues and research data anomalies
  • Document data and program processes
  • Serve as a data SME across multiple data sources. Coach and assist other analysts regarding data sources and code usage
  • Work collaboratively with other teams to develop standard code and data protocols to be used across the OBC team
  • Produce and interpret data analytics in support of Optum products

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience integrating data from large relational databases
  • 2+ years of experience SQL, Alteryx or equivalent experience
  • Experience developing visuals with BI tools such as Tableau, Looker, PowerBI
  • Ability to work standard business hours in CST zone

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in analyzing health insurance claims, transactions data, electronic medical records data, or similar types of clinical, program or employer data
  • Experience with Athena

The salary range for this role is $71,600 to $140,600 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
