The Lead Digital Product Manager for the Optum Specialty Pharmacy Patient Experience is responsible for overseeing the development and management of select journeys within the web and mobile application to drive self-service and transaction quality metrics. This role will report to the Director, Digital Product – Specialty Pharmacy and will regularly work and partner with a global team across the Consumer Office, Design, Analytics/Strategic Insights, Consumer Engineering, Capability teams and the Business.

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Product strategy:  
    • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify market trends, customer needs, and opportunities for product differentiation. 
    • Define and communicate the strategic vision for our digital product portfolio, aligning it with business goals and customer needs. 
    • Roadmap planning: Develop and maintain a comprehensive product roadmap, prioritizing features and enhancements based on customer feedback, market research, and business objectives. 
    • Cross-functional collaboration: Collaborate closely with design, engineering, marketing, and sales teams to ensure alignment and successful delivery of product initiatives. 
    • Requirements gathering: 
      Work with stakeholders to gather and prioritize product requirements, ensuring alignment with business goals and user needs.  
  • User experience (UX) optimization:  
    • Advocate for user-centered design principles, supporting user research and usability testing to inform product decisions  
      Agile product development:  
    • Oversee the end-to-end product development process, from concept ideation and design to development, testing, and launch.
  • Performance monitoring and reporting  
    • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of our digital products, iterating based on data-driven insights.  
    • Communicate key management by objectives (MBOs) and performance metrics to leaders at a regular cadence or ad hoc per line of business requests.
  • Stakeholder communication: 
    • Lead and define product strategy, digital best practices, roadmap updates, milestones and challenges to stakeholders and external partners as needed, fostering transparency and alignment.

Required Qualifications: 

  • 7+ years of experience in consumer facing digital product management within the pharmacy and/or healthcare industries  
  • 3+ years of experience working with mobile apps and authenticated experiences  
  • 3+ years of experience working with agile methodologies and product management best practices, with experience in leading agile product teams.  
  • 1+ years of experience working in AHA, or another similar tool  
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and business needs. 
  • Proven exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and empower team members to achieve their full potential.  
  • Proven proactive, creative problem-solver, able to address challenges head-on – including knowing when to escalate issues or when to solve them in the team  
  • Proven solid strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate market insights into actionable product strategies.  
  • Proven track record of successfully leading initiatives and delivering digital products or services that meet customer needs and business objectives.  
  • Proven excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with global, cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization – including executive presentations  

 

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Experience using other product and experience tools such as Miro, Figma, etc. 
  • Experience in leveraging AI to enhance Digital Products 
  • Experience developing business cases 
  • Technical understanding, ability to constructively challenge technical decisions as needed

The salary range for this role is $106,800 to $194,200 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
