The Intern – Healthcare Delivery position will assist in conducting Respiratory Protection Program (RPP) fit testing to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards. This role provides an opportunity for individuals to gain practical experience in occupational health and safety while contributing to the overall effectiveness of the organization’s fit testing initiatives.
This paid internship is 40 hours per week (starting in May/June and ending in August/September) and requires travel to clinics across a designated territory. Mileage reimbursement will be provided.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Support the execution of fit testing for various clinics throughout the organization
- Assist in preparing and maintaining fit testing equipment and materials
- Conduct pre-test screenings and educate participants on proper fit testing protocols
- Document test results accurately and maintain records in accordance with organizational policies
- Collaborate with team members to analyze data and identify trends related to fit testing outcomes
- Participate in training sessions to enhance knowledge of respiratory protection programs
- Assist in developing educational materials for employees
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the RPP by providing feedback on processes

Required Qualifications:
- High school education or equivalent experience
- Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Nursing, Public Health, Occupational Health, Healthcare Administration or related Healthcare/Medical undergraduate degree
- Solid attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
The hourly range for this role is $16.00 to $20.43 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with al minimum wage laws as applicable.
