Sr. Strategic Account Executive, Integrated Pharmacy Payer Services: This role is responsible for managing the Optum Integrated Pharmacy (Specialty, Home Delivery, Infusion, Frontier and Genoa) business relationships with OptumRx clients. Role provides account management and strategic oversight of driving forward important initiatives including but not limited to, pharmacy increase of Rx capture rates and contractual negotiations.

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Designated client-facing resource for client & internal contacts for pharmacy services/benefits/capabilities matters
  • Cross-functional coordination to implement client requirements, complete projects, and address ongoing service needs
  • Strategic account planning including establishing plans for growth and partnering with ORx account leaders to drive value for the Optum Pharmacies
  • Client-facing specialty consultant for monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc meetings
  • Facilitate meetings between internal partners to ensure alignment and progress of NPS initiatives
  • Facilitate and participate in presentation of overall pharmacy performance and member experience
  • Assists with complex and escalated issue resolution
  • Tracks plan performance through reporting (e.g. utilization, trend)
  • Manages Client Service Remediation Plans, ensuring that actions are developed/completed, with reporting to client and internal teams
  • Provides ad-hoc reporting upon request from SAE
  • Prepares/presents overview of the current specialty program and future enhancements
  • Assist with member communications pertaining to program changes
  • Works with product development on new initiatives
  • Presents opportunities to internal teams and clients/consultants

Required Qualifications: 

  • 5+ years of experience working in the health care industry 
  • 5+ years of experience in a client management role 
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing and delivering senior-level presentations and reports for clinical, case management, and operational audiences 
  • Online reporting database experience and analytical skills to review data and develop programs; including the ability to evaluate an opportunity and develop solutions that maximize value for the enterprise and client
  • Working knowledge of OptumRx PBM and Optum Pharmacies
  • Proven solid product and project management skills; including risk and contingency management, and the ability to manage competing demands and set priorities to achieve deliverables
  • Proven ability to build relationships across functions and lead toward common goals
  • Demonstrated ability to lead opportunities past engagement/sales, but to completion and implementation 
  • Proven extensive leadership, management, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Proven efficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel
  • Proven solid organizational skills with attention to detail 
  • Proven dependable, works well independently 
  • Willing or ability to travel 20% – 25%

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Pharmacy experience, especially working with pharmacy benefits
  • Experience working in and leading teams/initiatives in a matrix organization
  • Deep understanding of the healthcare ecosystem including clinical care, pharmacy services, payers, providers, and regulatory agencies
  • Demonstrated ability to identify the tasks needed to move the business forward
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve / formulate solutions from experience or research
  • Proven highly effective communicator, both written and verbal; public speaking and presentation skills preferred
  • Proven solid analytical skills; hands-on experience; ability to quickly aggregate and analyze information and draw conclusions
  • Proven extensive leadership, management, communication, and negotiation skills

The salary range for this role is $89,800 to $176,700 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
