Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates proposal development activities including drafting proposals for new and existing clients (e.g., employers, government), gathering related statistical and system-related reports, and directing the preparation of supporting documents and analyses
  • Works closely with sales, product, legal, pricing, and other functions to tailor contractual provisions to reflect prospect’s needs, company interests, and appropriate resources and timelines
  • Responsible for network analysis and disruption projections related to new business cases, which may require expertise in software used for modeling and geographic impact analysis
  • Supports initial contract admin and client service in clarifying requirements and ensuring fulfillment of obligations
  • Reviews the work of others

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in proposal writing
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to complete complex and time-sensitive projects
  • Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to interview key stakeholders to validate and create RFP responses

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience writing RFP’s in pharmacy benefit management (PBM) industry or healthcare industry
  • Experience working with a content database and populating proposals with standard content
  • Experience creating sales support materials such as executive summaries and cover letters
  • Experience creating and maintaining project timelines 
  • Proven ability to lead strategic discussions
  • Knowledge of medical, behavioral health and other healthcare related products and services
  • Excellent analytical, strategic, and critical thinking skills 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Self-starter and ability to work independently
  • Ability to multi-task, managing multiple deliverables and prioritizing work accordingly
  • Flexible, proactive and able to cope with changing conditions

The salary range for this role is $71,600 to $140,600 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
