As a Provider Engagement and Community Outreach Representative, you will utilize innovative strategies and programs to ensure access to health care coverage for the underserved and impact millions of lives. You will use your energetic, empathetic approach to marketing and add value to our team. Through provider and community marketing and outreach efforts, you will have a direct impact on membership growth and retention. You will use your creativity, strategic lens, and outspoken attitude to be part of an elite team to rewrite the history of UnitedHealth Group.
The Provider Engagement and Community Outreach Representative will be responsible for building relationships with the communities we serve, interacting with Providers, community leaders, and advocacy groups. The representative will visit Provider offices to ensure materials are on-hand to educate staff about programs and services available to UHC members. The representative also serves as a health plan liaison helping to resolve provider issues, complaints, and provide guidance where appropriate.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Create local brand awareness through community involvement by participating in targeted key events (such as health fairs, community family fun days, educational wellness seminars, fitness events, fun walks, etc.) through existing relationships and the creation of new ones
- Reporting, data entry, and tracking of information into department-specific programs
- Educate and assist current and potential Members regarding the UHCCP (UHC Community Plan) program (i.e., presentations, one-on-one conversations)
- Work with internal cross-functional teams (Clinical, Network, Care Management) to help facilitate provider issue resolution, as appropriate
- Ensure compliance and quality outreach efforts, adhering to all applicable State and Federal Regulatory requirements and procedures
- Develop outreach strategies to attract and retain membership and drive market share in assigned market
- Collect and analyze marketing, health, and Community-related data to develop market strategies and provide recommendations
- Attain monthly, quarterly, and annual outreach and engagement target goals for assigned market

Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience working with Providers (Physical Health, Behavioral Health, or Community) or Faith Based Organizations
- 1+ years of experience with Community Outreach event planning
- Intermediate or higher level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Team)
- Driver’s license and access to reliable transportation that will enable you to travel within assigned market
- Reside within/commutable distance to assigned market
- Willing and able to travel approximately 75% within the assigned market
- Willing and able to work core business hours Monday – Friday, nights and weekends when required
- Willing and able to travel up to 10% outside assigned market
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with communities of all different ethnicities, cultural backgrounds, diverse populations and/or underserved communities
- Experience influencing others at many organizational levels, both internally and externally
- Demonstrated knowledge of state Medicaid and/or CMS marketing rules and regulations
- Knowledge of health plan operations
- Bilingual
- Proven highly developed presentation skills
- Proven established professional relationships with non-profits and/or Community/Faith Based organizations in designate market

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $28.27 to $50.48 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
