As a Senior Compliance Analyst, you will be an individual contributor in our Legal, Regulatory Affairs and Compliance group. You will research, document and report on regulatory changes in the health care system, supporting UnitedHealthcare’s Regulatory Change Management process. You will play a critical role in helping business areas across the company understand regulatory requirements impacting their processes, enabling compliance with the law. Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Read and digest insurance laws, regulations and other regulatory requirements and summarize them for non-legal operational departments
  • Present and explain the new or revised laws, regulations and other regulatory requirements that affect our business
  • Monitor changes in regulatory requirements to identify when insurer action may be necessary
  • Collaborate with internal business owners to provide support
  • Consult with Legal and/or Regulatory Affairs leaders to ensure accuracy of work product
  • Navigate multiple deadlines in a production-type environment
  • Maintain documentation within technological resources
  • Make recommendations for process enhancements when applicable

Required Qualifications: 

  • 3+ years of experience working in a health care, managed care and/or health insurance
  • 3+ years of experience with claims processing, regulatory affairs, compliance or reimbursement
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated ability to read and understand insurance laws, regulations and other regulatory requirements and explain them to others 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Laws and Regulations  
  • Experience responding to inquiries from a variety of stakeholders (regulators and internal business partners/leaders)
  • Experience communicating complex information via phone conversations and emails to internal business partners/leaders and regulators
  • Experience working with healthcare regulators
  • Experience with UHC’s E&I business area
  • Advanced level of proficiency in Excel and/or eGRC/Archer
  • UHG organizational, system and product knowledge
  • Managed care, and/or compliance expertise
  • Proven solid analytical, problem solving, decision-making and time management skills; ability to exercise sound judgment, including when to escalate or seek guidance

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $71,200 to $127,200 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
